History

Extensive and documented sunflower cultivation in Spain began in 1964 in the western area of ​​Andalusia, and today is the most consumed oil seeds in Spain and possibly in Europe.

On the market are available different types of sunflower oil: normal, with a higher content of linoleic acid, and, with high oleic-oleic acid content that can reach 90%. In addition, during the last decade seed companies have developed high-saturated varieties, which allow frituraindustrial use in the manufacture of margarine, pastries, ice cream, etc.
